In Chirirbandar upazila of Dinajpur district, miscreants vandalized other idols, including the Kali idol kept in the temple.The incident took place at Chibuka temple in Majhina village on the banks of Atrai river, north of Madarganj Bazar in the upazila, late on Saturday night.The miscreants also smashed the Kali idol, Manasa idol and the idol of Jairam Goswami, the founder of the temple, and threw them into the river


Also, on the same night, at a place called Baidesir Hat, two kilometers north of there, the ink idol kept in the temple was smashed by someone in the middle of the night.Shri Dulal Chandra Roy, President of the Majhina Temple Committee, told the correspondent, "Mother worship is performed in our temple every morning and night. When our people came in the morning and saw the idol of Kali and other idols being vandalized, they informed the police and the police came and saw the incident.



Mr. Manotosh Chandra Roy, an elder of the village said, "I have never seen such an incident in my life at such a young age. This incident shows whether we can live in the country with dignity in the future


Arvind Bindu Roy, a human rights activist and vice-chairman of the Hindu Parishad's central committee, said that when the chairman of the temple committee informed me about the incident on his mobile phone, he advised them to immediately inform the police Besides, our demand to the administration should be investigated and the culprits should be brought under the law. When contacted by phone with the officer-in-charge of Chiri Port Police Station, he admitted the truth of the incident and said that he himself had gone to the spot to investigate. I have called the people of the temple committee and legal action will be taken against them for vandalizing the idol," he said.
