Local GM Khalil and his son Tanvir, nephew Soleiman and nephew Alamin along with several others hacked and beat seven members of a minority Hindu family with sharp ramdas, iron rods and hockey sticks in Kalibari village of Kalmegha union in Patharghata upazila of Barguna district.
Also injured were Mitali, daughter of Hare Krishna Sheel and Poppy Rani, wife of Govinda Sheel's brother. During the period of violence and barbarism, these terrorist forces not only stopped the bloodshed by stabbing and beating one after the other, but also threatened the Hindu family with death and threatened to leave the country. According to the details of the incident, GM Khalil Gang bought some land adjacent to the injured Govinda Shil, claiming ownership of the whole land in his succession. When he resisted, this barbaric torture fell on him and all his family members.
A case has also been filed in this regard and it is more sad that the accused are constantly threatening Govinda Sheel's family on bail from the court. Fearing for his life, Govinda Shil's entire family, especially his son Uttam Kumar, is not getting the courage to leave the house.
The barbaric incident took place at 5 pm on January 31 in Kalibari village of Kalmegha union in Patharghata upazila of Barguna district of Bangladesh.
The members of that minority family are currently suffering from insecurity and have sought the cooperation of all, including the administration, to protect their land and ancestral property.
