100 Muslims convert to Hinduism in Uttar Pradesh's Khurja. On Christmas Day, Vishwa Hindu Parishad took up the 'Ghar Wapsi' programme. There 100 Muslims converted to Hinduism. Khurja BJP MLA Meenakshi Singh said, '100 to 125 people from 20 families have been initiated into Sanatan Dharma. Leaving other religions, they returned to the religion of their ancestors by their own will. Meenakshi Singh claims,

'Families whose forefathers left Hinduism for some reason or confusion some time ago are being brought back to Hinduism. They promised to worship Sri Rama, Sri Krishna and other traditional deities from today.' It is reported that 100 people who converted to Hinduism signed the affidavit stating their consent. The news of 9 heterosexuals of the same family adopting Hinduism came to light last November. That incident also happened in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh. Among them 7 were women and 2 were men. They are brothers and sisters. They converted to Yashbir Ashram at Saharanpur in Muzaffarnagar. They also changed their names. In a separate incident last Saturday afternoon,

an extremist Hindutva group was accused of attacking a Christmas gathering in Uttarkashi district of Uttar Pradesh. The attackers counter-claimed that Hindus were being initiated into Christianity at that event. Hardline Hindutva attacked the gathering with sticks and other weapons. Police arrested a total of six people including a pastor and his wife in the incident.
